Because, you need to rebuild and grow your network. Even if you are not in job search mode, now is the natural time of the year for this activity.

I was speaking with one of our members the other day, and he gave the formula that he has used to keep working pretty much all the time for the last 10 years. Since he was laid off early in the dot.com bust, he has been working as a consultant. Over that period of time, he has developed contacts in many different agencies. When he gets close to the end of contract, or when he is between contracts, he uses his Monday morning strategy.
