Jeff is the CEO of OurExperienceCounts.com. He has over 30 years experience in marketing and sales in technology industries. He founded and served as CEO at Innovative Robotics for 9 years. He has also held various senior management positions where he has demonstrated the ability to establish or revitalize businesses. While with VLSI Technology he setup and managed that company's Asian operations, which included three ASIC design centers. In three years revenues grew from less than $1 million to over $70 million annually. In addition to his work at OurExperienceCounts.com, he also serves as Chief Financial Officer at Borgata Recycling and also provides career counseling at ProMatch (a nationally recognized career counseling center for Silicon Valley professionals).

Is the American Dream Becoming A Nightmare?

Most of us above the age of 50 have been dealing with the challenges that our economic slump has created, high unemployment, reduced assets and retirement plans that no longer work. You would think that dealing with the economic challenges experienced workers must now face would be a very high priority for our congress and our president. You would think that issues like reducing unemployment for a demographic that has contributed so much to our economy would be a focus issue, but what we keep reading about in our newspapers is just the opposite. Our congress and our president are debating how they can reduce expenses by diluting Medicare benefits and reducing Social Security expenses.
What I don’t understand is how we can continue to finance expensive domestic and international polices that we absolutely cannot afford and at the same time are asking older Americans to pay for it. I know that the budget reduction will hit many segments of our population, but as we get older the opportunity to bounce back is not there for many of us. Let’s get our priorities straight and begin protecting the American Dream, which we once held sacred. It’s time for our elected government officials to stop protecting their special interests and put the welfare of the American people ahead of partisan politics.
